As an aside a question inspired by the Walrus CAD drawings. Looking at the Lewis guns I was wondering how long they actually stayed in service with British Armed forces for ? Came into service circa 1915/16 ? but when did they go out of service ?

CAD looks like a Vickers K rather than a Lewis.

More than a Javelin in 1/72nd scale, I'd like a decent Sea Vixen and Scimitar.

There's speculation about a Sea Fury also.  Hopefully 72nd.

Oooo - any more details? Such as, is it likely to be a revamp of the ex-PM moulds (doubtful, somehow) , or brand-spanking-new from the block-o-metal starting point?

Wikipedia states that the armament of the Walrus was "2 or 3 × .303 in (7.7 mm) Vickers K machine guns".

The Vickers K gun looks similar to the Lewis gun but was derived from the Vickers-Berthier (VB) light machine gun (which looks more like a Bren gun).

That route is a compleate non starter. When the old boy who owned PM died, his family saw no value in selling the tooling as is, so they sold the lot for scrap.

On the Airfix Facebook page some time ago there was picture of a rather specific Hanger interior where the Airfix team were doing Lidar, and it was worked out the Hanger was Duxford one and that a Sea Fury was the aircraft in that specific location at the time. Nothing more to go on as yet.

Guaranteed seeing as I have just obtained two Trumpeters and a Frog.

I still maintain that they MUST bang out a new 1/72 Mosquito.  Particularly since (as revealed elsewhere) the old FB Mk VI (which became the Mk II/VI/XVIII boxing) was the first Series 2 kit back in 1857 when Kit and Chris were mere striplings and I wasn't even a glint in the milkman's eye.
If they cover my expenses I'll even go to New Zealand with my trusty clipboard, tape measure and pencil and measure one for them.

Airfix are not that far away from the De Havilland Museum, they have plenty they can LIDAR if they haven't done so already. We just don't have any flying examples anymore :-(

As to the Javelin, Sea Vixen, Buccaneer and Scimitar, yes we could do with Airfix doing any of those four, although personally I would like to see them do British Phantom, they should really do their own new decent Typhoon and Tornado as both those tooling's are crap and poor representations of the current RAF front line aircraft. I would love them to do the F-35B but they haven't got a chance of LIDARing that

If they do a new Mossie, they should have the sense to look at the competition first.  Then decide that no one does a two stage Merlin on in 72nd and then plumb for one of those.

I agree with Thorvic 100% on the choices as well as the chances of an F-35B. If I remember correctly the Airfix Tornado started out as a prototype MRCA and was then changed into a production aircraft initially. It may have had an update since then, I do know that a new weapons sprue has been added, but on the whole its still based on the old MRCA kit so badly needs replaced.

Yeah, that's what I'd heard; which was why it was more tongue-in-cheek than serious. 
Sad, as they were - once upon a time - cheapish whiff-fodder.
