Still awake! (but for how long?!)

The 2017 range can be found here: http://www.airfix.com/uk-en/shop/new-for-2017.html

No new-tool surprises except the 1/72 B-25C/D (which some saw in a recent Hornby magazine) and a few new schemes too (eg Tomahawk IIB boxings in both scales).

The anticipated Shackleton AEW.2 is there, likewise the Fortress III and a new boxing of the Meteor F.8 (x2 RAAF , x1 Dutch).

The Wooksta!

Nothing at all for me in that lot, although the markings in the Swordfish are tempting.  I could be persuaded with the AEW Shackleton at a low price, but I really have enough.

Airfix won't be seeing much of my wadge this year.

Nice scheme for the 1/72 Tomahawk. Stuka is as well, but I have that snake in at least 2 after market sets
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Blimey, £25.00 for the Mitchell?  :banghead:

That's darned expensive for a not very large twin engined WWII bomber.

£25 for the FG.1 'Toom? I do hope that for the price it has enough things under the wings to "start a small war" and pieces to make a FGR too.

The Shack seems to have a detailed interior of which absolutely nothing can be seen, so does it come with a transparent fuselage and/or removable piece of it? Alas, it's £45 anyway...

Compared to current pricing of the Fujimi FG-1 kit (new and 2nd hand), the Upcoming Airfix one is priced to match. As I understand they do intend on an FGR-2 boxing later on once the FG-1 has run its course.

As for the Shack, It does have a full interior. And no it doesnt have a clear fuselage to show it off.

Pricing in general is on an upwards climb. And I doubt it will ease off any time soon (if ever). And not just with Airfix.
Remember at the end of the day those who supply us with the kits we want, are in it to make money. If they happen to make/keep us happy thats a secondary bonus for them. Costs for them will carry on creeping up. As a result, So long as most people are willing to pay the RRP. The price of the product will continue to increase to compensate for the reduced profits from increased costs and share holder demands for better dividend performance.

Its called capitalisum!

I think it's called greed actually.

Hornby made a pigs ear of various decisions in previous years and are now expecting us to pay to get them out of it. Meanwhile the original miscreants have all left and are probably sunning themselves in the Bahamas.

I'm just pleased I've got enough stuff in The Loft that I might not have to buy any more kits ever.  ;D

Me too, and so I suspect do many others on the board.

This I like.  I knew i'd seen a chequered B.E.2c somewhere. I'll do it with paint though and in red & white.

Well I appreciate what they have announced, i'll certainly be buying the Phantom FG1 in multiple quantities as its no different to the usual price of the Fujimi ones, and you get a lot more for your kit. The RAF Fortress III looks good with its 100 group markings and the AEW Shackleton might tempt me. I don't really do WW2 or 48th so I don't think I will get many of those although the FAA types may just appeal to me if I see them at a shop or a show.

Not a bad line up considering the state of the market and is vastly more appealing than the crud on offer from Revell (bar perhaps its PT-109), wait to see the limited fayre from the likes of Heller and Italeri and you'll see how poor the European mainstream market really is. Nothing much new coming from the far east either
