Brexit is so ill-timed and fundamentally wrong in so many ways!! 😕

Let's not go there. It's a very divisive subject in the UK and will remain so for a long time

And it's surely political and therefore banned on here, yes?

That B-25 is welcome, their old is terrible. Building it now, not an exercise for the faint of heart.

And yet I have quite fond memories of their old one. Probably because of the build options that came with it and of course our expectations were so much lower back then. Ah, simpler days  ;D

Me too.  Brush painted with Humbrol or Airfix Silver enamel that never quite dried fully.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Yes and no Kit. It's really only of interest to us citizens of the UK. The rest of the world don't realise how divisive it is in the UK. Besides I could be said to have started it  :banghead:

No it is political and therefore unsuitable for the forum, so lets get back on topic or we'll just delete the relevant posts.

Anyway back on topic I have the new Airfix Catalogue and an interesting page which also contributes to the price hikes is the Licence Acknowledgements for each ad every licenced product including Gulf for the logo on the Ford GT !!!

I should not have commented on the FG.1 price, that seemed to start the avalanche. It was only that Italeri had just announced a F-4C/D/J aces boxing for 20€ which caused my reaction - of course, £25/€30 is still reasonable compared to Hasegawa or Fujimi, and Airfix usually is easier to put together, so a couple of boxes will probably find their way into The Stash.

Funny, I always thought that was an exclusive problem with Xtracolor.   ;D ;D ;D
I always hope for the best.

experience has taught me to expect the worst.

It's horses for courses of course but I think there are some nice items in the 2017 catalogue.

I may get a Phantom (I've a built Matchbox FGR2 (done with the Aeroclub upgrade set, makes a massive difference), a part-built Fujimi FG1 and an unbuilt ESCI F-4J(UK) (aka F3) in the stash so have all of the UK marks covered.  It is still very tempting mind - the all-black 111 Sqn FG1 most of all (I have the Modeldecal sheet).

I'd have definitely gone for the Shackleton AEW2 had Santa not brought a Revell AEW2 (and to be honest, like Wooksta I think the Revell rivet detail is preferable to the Airfix panel line finish).

The Tomahawk IIb marking option looks great and that would have been a yes had I not already got a built Hobbyboss example in the collection.

The new B-25 I will wait until it's re-released with RAF markings.  Although there are aftermarket options readily available but I don't want to be tempted just yet.  And in any case I've still got one of the recent 'red box' B-25Js to do (Australian version).  BTW does any one know for certain whether the Aussie version actually carry the nose side guns??

I'm glad I didn't buy the JP3 when it first came out (the grey/dayglo scheme is still tempting, mind) as the Red Pelicans Gift Set version is a must have - and will get when it's available.

And the Fortress III is a must.  Only ever had one B-17 and it was as a kid the original Airfix 'Bit o' Lace' kit.

The Italeri kits is just a rehash of the old Esci kit so all they do is pay for a new decal sheet, instructions, box and a re-run. The Airfix kit is a new tool that has be researched, designed, tooled and produced which has be factored in.

And, surprise, sodding surprise, they've gone for Carmicheal.  Again.  Unimaginative dullards...
Where did you see/hear that?!

EDIT: Another forumite shared a picture of the Sea Fury profiles with me. There's no WJ232. Unless you've heard otherwise from someone who knows better than the Airfix 2017 catalogue?

Quote from: des at the Airfix Tribute ForumSome images have been put on Britmodeller of the Airfix stand at this year Nuremberg Toy Fair which include some colour scheme information that has not yet been added to the Airfix website  -  http://data3.primeportal.net/models/thomas_voigt11/airfix/

Phantom FG.1  -  http://data3.primeportal.net/models/thomas_voigt11/airfix/images/airfix_26_of_49.jpg

Three RN colour schemes – 892 NAS with RWR bar but before either form of nose flash was adopted ; 767 NAS ; what looks like the NASU Dayglo Stork – but nothing for the two RAF operators, 43 Sqn. which operated them from initial delivery and 111 Sqn. which converted from the FGR.2 when the FG.1 was withdrawn from naval service.

Walrus  -  http://data3.primeportal.net/models/thomas_voigt11/airfix/images/airfix_01_of_49.jpg

The box reads RAF , RN and Australian but the artwork only shows two and they are a bit too small for my eyesight.

Sea Fury  -  http://data3.primeportal.net/models/thomas_voigt11/airfix/images/airfix_09_of_49.jpg

The box read two RN examples which look like 155/R from 801 NAS on HMS Glory and 107/Q from 802 NAS on HMS Vengeance.

Still waiting for Wooksta to tell me where he saw Carmichael's Sea Fury as one of the Airfix options!  ;D

Great to see the Mitchell and 262 in plastic...but no Sea Fury yet...[optimism]maybe they're waiting until Sunday to show off the prototype?[/optimism]

I was looking at the Airfix site as I am after one of their 1/72 Metal wing Hurricanes for a r/w build when I noticed that they have, unsurprisingly, an AEW2 Shackleton listed in the new for 2017 pages.

https://www.airfix.com/uk-en/shop/new-for-2017.html?

Several re-issued modern kits with different decal choices and a few new items which have been covered elsewhere.
