Which scale Zac ?
1/48. I built the 1/72 one (also very nice) as a Boeing Enforcer a couple of years back, and as I move to 1/48 there are still some Mustangs I need!

All they have to do is buy a copy of the book 'War Prizes' (by Phil Butler,  isbn 0-904597-86-5). It's all about captured aircraft in Allied markings.

Will check it out . Should have made it clearer they want photos of completed models presumably airfix  in rafwaffe colours

Just a head up but the RN Phantom FG1 announced last SMW has now slipped to a Dec 2017 release date, it looks like it will miss the planned SMW deadline. I suspect its due to refining shape and fit issues given we have already seen the sprue's and I know that did raise some questions.
:banghead:

People may have noted that quite a few of the new/re-releases have been delayed this year, no they are not back sliding, but due to popular demand and growing concern of the poor QC from Indian production the new kits have started to be produced in the UK, but whilst this benefits from easier communication and accessibility it is still a new producer learning the plastic kit production for Airfix and it will take a bit of time to settle in. Whilst a bit of an inconvenience, it does bode well for the future if the capable research and design teams at Airfix can get into a good working relationship with their manufacturer then we should start to see some very tasty kits start to appear

This is why the B-25 Mitchell appears to have jumped the Phantom as its test shots were better than the Phantoms and thus approved for production.

Great for the prop job boys although a bit frustrating from a Cold War point of view, the December release may also be a bit of pain as that means those with multiple kits reserved will be hit for payment in the run up to Christmas, or if further delayed in the Jan/Feb period instead.

The Me.262 I got on Saturday was tooled in India which surprised me a little if I'm honest. I thought they'd already switched, obviously hadn't kept myself fully up to date.

Looking forward to the Mitchell and despite it's scale the Walrus as well

Manufacturing in the UK.  Now there's a novelty.
Whatever will they think of next?

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

1/48 Walrus is out. This could be one of my rare forays into the larger scale  Although I may well live getting it until Telford.

This reminds me, I've a 1/72 Walrus that was going to be painted up as a post war "Orkney Ambulance  Service " aeromed aircraft. I really must get on with it!

Having finally taken the Me 262 out of it's sealed bag and had a good look I can report that it looks very nice indeed  They have also tooled it with a two seater in mind as not only do the fuselage halves have their own sprue but the kit includes drop tanks and their racks which are not used on the kit.

Unless you want to, of course. ;)

In the November edition of Airfix Model World there's an article on the 1/72 Phantom FG.1, if you are interested.

Do they whiff it?
I'd like to see AMW include a radical kitbash whiff as an advanced build feature.
Never going to happen but imagine the number of out of joint noses in the rivet counting community...
