When I started reading the newsletter I got excited as I thought they were announcing a Type 142.
No such luck.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I viewed the story on my phone so the head-on picture looked like a Beaufort, which was amazing!

I'm more interested in the Wimpy in the background.

It is.  I just looked at the Airfix website and it has as much detail inside as the Shack.  But more chance to see it on this with those big windows.

they also had a built up interior on display, it realy is a thing of beauty inside .
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

The internal geodetic structure runs all the way back to the rear turret too.  :o

I suggested to one of the guys on the stand that they should consider an optional clear plastic fuselage side, like LS used to do back in the 70s. He said they'd not thought of that before (!!!!) but he'd mention it. That'd work well for the Shackleton too.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

That's good.

They could sell it as an aftermarket part, like the Valiant tanker/PR bits.

The photo etch boys could do sections of geodectic, that way you could build a battle damaged Wimpey while showing off the internal detail.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That's what I said to the "young lad" - well he looked like a lad to me  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
