I could lend them a couple of Skybirds Scimitars as masters if they want to borrow them.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

From what I've been told, they've already LIDAR'd many things of interest in museums across the country.  I'd lay odds on that one is a Scimitar, although I'd much rather have an Attacker for obvious reasons.

LIDAR = Laser Radar.

In this context it means laser-scanning a 3D object to get a very accurate digital model of it. Airfix often do this as the starting point for a new model nowadays.

Does anybody know if there are plans to reissue 1/600 Airfix SS France?

Wasn't that one of the molds destroyed in a train crash in the USA, which is why they go for silly money on the collectors' market these days?

I've got an XtraKit 1/72 Scimitar in the stash, is there something wrong with it ?

Availability, they only make it to Canada by mail order, don't think I've ever seen them stocked.

A decent Lockheed C-130,  would be great  :banghead:, I don't think Airfix did the Lockheed Neptune  but if they did it would make a great donor model for most of the variants.

What's wrong with the various Italeri C-130s?

And Hasegawa did, and maybe still do, make the Neptune, except it probably costs a King's ransom these days!

The engine nacelles are too short for anything other than an A version.  There are several correction sets on the market but that is extra on top of the cost of the kit.

I've got a few of the improvement sets in the stash.  With the new tooling the interior detail could be improved especially the C-130 when the cargo doors are displayed in the open position.

The Wooksta!

IIRC, there was a comparison of the available C130 kits in 72 - Airfix, ESCI/ERTL and Italeri - and the consensus seemed to be that the Airfix kit was the better one overall but the ESCI kit had slightly better detail.
