Interesting.  I hope they made it easily modable to become a B.1 version...

Looking at the exploded image on the web page, no easier or more difficult than the current kit.  The Flightpath conversion should still work on the new kit.  It's a bit tricksy, if your looking into using it I can tell you my experience with it.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Airfix showed up on me facebook feed this morning with an announcement about the new Vulcan, accompanied by a picture that has me drooling. Awesome.

That pic featured strongly on their stand at Telford at one stage, but vanished later on. I wonder if someone nicked it.  :o

Did anyone look at the HMS Prince of Wales that was displayed on the Airfix stand, it was built by Dave Coventry (The Airfix Tribute Forum founder) but it looks much bigger than the HMS QE he built in 1/350 (which is now on the real HMS QE). Did anyone find out what the scale of this new one is ?

Yup! but I don't go there very often, if at all. It has that stupid 'tapatalk' feature as the hosting site. I don't like most of the social media sites, but this one I just dislike it with a passion.

Tapatalk is ....... well.......  I'm not impressed, either. I admin over at a Star Trek general purpose message board and having to deal with it has been troubling in the least and at times pretty frustrating because of the extra work load. It's not like we're getting paid. All of a sudden so many features have been messed up or hidden behind gimmicky pay-wall type crap that we get complaints frequently from the users. I started looking into a lot of the fine print and what I unearthed is just downright bad. The minute we converted the entirety of the boards' contents became Tapatalk IP. We are never allowed to leave for another service, either. If we do, we lose our some 14 years of community posts and ALL content. I am NOT happy.  Zeta was just fine but they were swooped up with Tapatalk and the root owner went along with it. I'm not sure if we had a choice in that scenario, but had I known then what I do now I would have pleaded with him to find some other host. We essentially sold our soul to the devil.  Shame on Tapatalk.

If it ever comes down to this place being in a situation where moving hosts or "upgrading" I implore TPTB to fight all you can to use some other service than Tapatalk.

And models and stuff.

Hmm, shame indeed, I  used to like that forum  as it was quite a friendly one,  but there were a few who  used to choke on their werthers when I put some  of my wiffs on there, especially  if it consisted of  "grail" kits

Ditto. I used to hang out on a number of boards, but when Hyperscale went to tapatalk I lost interest.

OK, got a reply from the man himself, it is 1/350 scale, it's just sitting on a 1.5 meter box which is draped with a sheet. Makes it look much bigger though --

That HMS QE did look pretty good, but the Airfix staff on the stand didn't want to talk about it, they only thought 'Vulcan' on the Saturday!

The QE's air group was interesting as it includes more than one V-22...................

On a similar subject, there was a guy there selling some very low production resin kits, which included a 1/144  Belfast, a 1/144 JET Belfast, just like Harro's model, a 1/72 Super VC10 freighter and a 1/700 CVA-01, just like Geoff's model!

I think he'd been spending time oggling our stand in recent years.

Dave Coventry (the builder of the QE) had replied to a query on BTS about the aircraft displayed. He said that the V-22's are the only aircraft able to bring in replacement F-35 engines when the ship is too far from land, but the UK won't be buying them. They'll be using USMC Ospreys instead  ---  which have been cleared recently to land and take-off from the HMS QE

I had a chat with him about the Jet Belfast. He'd just put together a quick mockup to gauge reactions and demand, no plans to produce a kit at the moment.
