Has anyone tried Games Workshop paints ? I see they have a large range .

I've used a lot of their metallic shades and they're pretty good, but they keep on changing the names of the paints, which is a right pain when you want to replace them. The shop staff never seem to know the history of the various shades, which might be OK in a games environment but we're talking about scale modelling here, albeit WhatIf ones.

Serendipity or what ?

I've just asked the question on the paints part of the Forum if anyone knows what they are now calling Bolt Gun Metal ? It's my go to paint when I want Gun Metal and mine is getting to the end of its life.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Latest workbench, showing sprues and colours schemes for the Hunter F.4 (1 Sqn RAF in Suez stripes, Swedish and Belgian), artwork for the Phantom FG.1 RAF boxing showing 111 Sqn "Black Mike" and 43 Sqn markings.  There's also announcement of the MiG-17 release and a B-25B in Dolittle raid markings.

The next workbench is Jan 10th where they say they will cover more on the 2020 range that will be announced at the start of that week

Speaking of the 2020 range i'm not expecting too much:-

We know about the 72nd Vulcan and were bound to have an RAF Buccaneer boxing and probably a new Mig-17 variant so I think us cold war lot shouldn't expect anything more. bound to be something new in 48th and hopefully something 72nd WW2, bound to be Battle of Britain specials although Revell have trumped them with the 72nd Ju-88 A1 which is the one that airfix hadn't yet covered for the main BoB types.

I have a buddy who is the US rep for Airfix (who says being the IPMS/USA 1st VP doesn't have any benefits) and he told me the new stuff is supposed to be announced on the 6th for all of Hornby's lines.

Quite right, Airfix themselves announced January 6 as the date for the 2020 range launch some time back. It's my Christmas!

Vulcan was the SMW2019 Big News, I wonder whether there'll be any other new moulds in 2020? There's a lot of catching up to do with releasing the 2019 range, so maybe that'll be carried over?

There's a running Airfix theme of kitting aircraft on the UK flying display scene, so a Lysander III isn't impossible and would be cheaper than the lovely-looking Dora Wings kits.

Repops - Coastal Command Fortress?  RAF Buccaneer?  Latter seems obvious.
Vintage range - Skyvan? Beaver?

We'll find out soon.

I'd like a Beaver.
I'd also like to see the Islander re-popped.

I won't mention the Rotodyne but you all know i'm thinking it...

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I'd like the 1/72 Canberra's to be re-popped.

Yep, Islander and Canberras.

An Islander might prompt some TurboIslander/Defender conversion kits, who knows but a new 1/72 TurboIslander/Defender kit would be nice.

Maybe they will re-jig the 1/48 Spitfire FR XIV down to 1/72 ? The 1/48 kit is a beauty
