The armour side has been quiet for a while, good to see they're moving into 1/35 with the Cromwells and replacing some of their 1/72 mainstays.

They should produce some new mould 1/35 armour instead of just repopping old academy kits.
Come on Airfix, show us what your LIDAR can do with a subject other than aircraft.
A Stalwart would be a nice start...

My reading of the AMW piece is the Cromwells are new tools in 1/35.
I may have misunderstood, but I thought the Cromwells were new tools?

I didn't read that far.  I only looked at the picture of the Beaufort.

...there was a fake passenger/freight Beaufighter on ski landing gear in the third Brendan Fraser Mummy film that I want to build some day...

Yes.  It had a yak in it IIRC.

The wording is a little ambiguous, the Cromwell announcement follows on with the rest of the new tools, although it doesn't state outright.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

To me it reads as if the Cromwells are new tools.

In the film, or in the freighter itself? And if the latter, how do you get a yak in there?

The Film Beaufighter appeared to have a passenger door cut in the starboard side behind the wing, in a later scene one of the characters could be seen firing a MG through this door. The Beaufighter carried very faded Far-East blue/white roundels and SH or SK codes

SK-N  (which you can get in a decal sheet).  It appears to be a Beaufighter Mk.21.  Interestingly, in the movie, it show the sqn code as SK-N on the port side, whereas, all photos of the real aircraft (and other sqn aircraft) show it should be as N-SK, SK-N being just on the starboard side.

The render for the Spitfire Vc

Although it seems to have a fair bit in ommon with their current mk I/II/Va, it looks to be a complete new tool, judging by the Vokes filter.

Render for the Beaufort:

"Visit Scarfolk today!"

The only current 1/35th injected Cromwell is the Tamiya kit, Academy don't make one.
The Airfix kit is a new tool.

KiwiZac

Those renders are gorgeous Lee, thanks for sharing. I bet you're very excited for the Vc!

My brain woke me up early(er than I have done lately) and I have some toast and coffee ready to thoroughly digest the range announcement...

i think some people are going to be happy with the announcement of a 1/48 Gnat T.1
i myself am looking forward to the Beaufort, i can then use the FROG kit as WHIF fodder

-all kinds of things.

It's interesting that (as of this post) on Scalemates 33 people (myself included) have added the Beaufort to their wishlist, 20 want the Canuckistani-built Sabre....but only seven want the Spitfire Vc! It seems those of us who have clamoured for a Beaufort for so long are rather vindicated!
