Vintage classics? Doe's that mean the Hs.123 has been re-popped? That's good news if so, will (or should) make a kit easier to find...

Yep.

Excellent, but if I am reading that correctly it's already on backorder status.

Or maybe not arrived at the Big H yet. They often post newish items long before they have them in stock.

The picture on the Box shows the aircraft to be in a slight dive.  Considering that the Luftwaffe found that the most effective weapon the Hs123 had was it's engine, which had certain RPMs would set up quite a "howl" which was guaranteed to frighten horses and worse,  people, I think dropping bombs and firing it's guns are quite within it's reach...

The greatest tribute to the Hs 123 usefulness came in January 1943 when Generaloberst Wolfram von Richthofen[11], then commander-in-chief of Luftflotte 4, asked whether production of the Hs 123 could be restarted because the Hs 123 performed well in a theater where mud, snow, rain and ice took a heavy toll on the serviceability of more advanced aircraft. However, the Henschel factory had already dismantled all tools and jigs in 1940.[8]

Yup it's not been released yet.

Picked up three of the £4.99 starter kits in Lidl this afternoon, the Bf109E-3 and Hurricane Mk.I for me and a Yellowjacks Gnat as a Xmas present for my brother

The Airfix site has them, I got an email the other day:

Probably just taking a bit longer to get to the retailers with all the current shenanigans.

Not just Lee!

Will be getting a couple - one to replace the old Airfix Vc (Vb updated with Vc parts) with after market Yugoslav markings have been in that particular box for years, the other a Vb with Seafire IIc conversion parts in it).

What to do with the other 4?  One to be disposed of I think, the remainder have had aftermarket conversion parts in them for a while so reluctant to shell out £30 to replace them.  I think I may have enough bits and bobs to make better use of 'new' Airfix Spitfire Is to allow maybe another one or two of the Vbs to go.  Must have a detailed delve!

According to one eBay seller Airfix now does the Avro Shackleton MR.2 and AEW.2 in 1/48 scale. This must be a typo error  (or is it possible?).
