Slightly  off topic, but I am currently building  the Buccaneer  S 2C, whilst building a mix and match super sonic  hunter,  and I  really must say how nice it  goes together. I am about half way through  building it and I  don't  think I  will need any putty and the parts line up a dream.I  think I  will buy some more of these as therapy  builds ;D ;D

Nice to hear that Chris. I've got one at home, but I've not even opened the box so far.

My Airfix Lightning ambulance went together like a dream too, and I surely needed that after the AMP FULH and the M-M AW52!

Must admit the new tool Airfix kits I've built all very much fit into the "relaxing" build category

My thoughts  too Chris,  I  just  need to clear  everything off my bench then  i  can enjoy building it properly.

I actually like the way that they have re-thought the "traditional" build process in some areas so that you still have to think about it a little. Also the fact that it's not just been change for changes sake.

About to start a RW Airfix 1/48 Hunter. I was planning using the F.4 as a basis to make a Royal Navy GA.11.  Figured it would be an wasy conversion , mainly adding a tailhook and cutting down the nose for a Harley light.

Imagine my delight when I open the box and find a small sprue with a Harley light nose and a tailhook!  Well done Airfix for secretly including the GA.11 parts for me!!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

What's the betting that when Airfix get around to releasing the kit as a GA.11 they will include decals to do the same aircraft as you?

Decals are going to be a varied mix from the spares box for me.  Seems there is only one aftermarket 1/48 RN Hunter sheet out there and it's rare as unicorn tears based on my searching.  Fortunately the FRADU machines didn't really have many unique markings and I have spares to represent at least one reference photo.

The Wooksta!

The Model Art sheet in 72nd did mainly 80s aircraft which had black codes. Find a copy, scan at a hi resolution and upscale to 48th before printing onto clear decal.

Thanks for that.  I plan on this one being EDSG over White with the white markings and serials.  I've got them all sorted from spares, but this is good info for future reference.

Just read this about the design of the new 1/72 Tempest in the latest Airfix Workbench

I'm just fascinated by the piece about the drop tanks connecting pipework  :o

Can't wait

That looks as if it's going to be a superb kit, and you could Whiff it just by painting the drop tank pylons.  ;D

I never knew they were clear on the real thing, and it looks as if Messers, FROG, Heller, Matchbox etc. didn't either!
