That looks as if it's going to be a superb kit, and you could Whiff it just by painting the drop tank pylons.  ;D

I never knew they were clear on the real thing, and it looks as if Messers, FROG, Heller, Matchbox etc. didn't either!

Were they?  Bear in mind this piece was published on April 1st...

Everytime I look at the box art on the calendar on the back of the toilet door I can't help thinking "what if that was an Exocet instead of a torpedo?"

It's even more confusing. I can't find any definitive images on-line, but I did find this

https://paulbudzik.com/models/tempest-construction/tempest-construction-page4.html

So maybe in service the fairing was painted over and the ground crew weren't to bothered about leaving a viewing pane ?

Edit : Bit more digging and it appears that the fairings were clear on early models of the Tempest and Al alloy on latter models.

That build page looks awesome, and even more so when you page back and forth to the earlier and later ones!

But what scale is he working in? It must be at least 1/32 as he's talking about 'The Large Scale Models SIG'.

He also does some in 1/48, the Spitfire Mk. XIV for example.

Yup, I've been back in and had a look at a few more of his builds

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Hannants have a new Xtradecal sheet up on their website, intended for the forthcoming Airfix Mosquito kit, although it's yet to come in stock.  All B.16s, I'm not sure if any from it have been done before, although one or two are vaguely familiar and may have been on that fantastic sheet from ADS some years back that's sadly out of print.

Two of the options caught me immediately - a 109 Sqn post war aircraft, although frustratingly, not the one I really want to do, and one with the Central Bomber Establishment, in the rather striking Dark Sea Grey over Night scheme.  This one has the H2S radome under the rear fuselage but AFAIK, no one does this as a conversion and I'm not sure what could be adapted.  A Lancaster one is too big, possibly the radome from the Barracuda?

Matchbox Halifax Radome perhaps?

The Wooksta!

Never had a Matchbox one, but the Revell tooled one is too big also. I've a mould of the Alleycat Shackleton MR1 radome that might be adaptable, but again I thin it's too big.

One for Colin perhaps?

Still need to see a sprue breakdown for that kit - is the bulged bay part of the fuselage or has Parminder had the foresight to do it as a separate piece?

Concorde prototype is out:

I hope they've done something to the moulds since the last time they ran it. The starboard wing sat at a markedly greater angle of incidence than the port one back then. It needed a LOT of filing, cutting and sawing of the wing tabs to get it to fit. :(
