The Pilot, there were two in this case, is also in a lot of trouble. At least one of them, the female one, has been suspended by the Suez Canal Authority. The law firms must be rubbing their hands with delight  :-X

I understand that the Canal Authority has announced they are going to expand the width of the Canal on the stretch where the boat ran aground...   :banghead:

Haven't they relatively recently enlarged the Canal ?

Yes, but not where Ever Given got stuck.

I hope they've done something to the moulds since the last time they ran it. The starboard wing sat at a markedly greater angle of incidence than the port one back then. It needed a LOT of filing, cutting and sawing of the wing tabs to get it to fit. :(

Doesn't look like they've made any physical changes.

The paint scheme as on the box is quite probably a Whiff in itself. My club secretary is employed by British Airways as a curator and historian. He told me a while back that the dark blue paint was considered likely to get too hot at supersonic speeds and there was another more white scheme planned before BOAC went all BA.
He did promise to look it up for me but then Covid happened. I will chase it when I see him again.

July's Airfix Magazine, everyone else would call it June , has some sprue shots and comments on the new Mosquito. Not many, but what there are look nice.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The Mosquito tail wheel is completely wrong. Good job I have a Tamiya spare and some moulding rubber.

Why would you do that ? Wasn't this new Mosquito kit scanned with photogrammetry process ?? And how do you know it's wrong anyway, do you have a real one to compare?

Airfix has made a hash of their website. The Workbench articles used to live here:
https://uk.airfix.com/community/blog-and-news?search=&sort_by=date_published&records_per_page=16&page=1

but when you select Workbench on that page, you get no search results. I see no way to get to the Workbench articles.  :banghead:

Look at these:

And compare with this photo of the actual tailwheel

Don't think the former replicates the latter.

Either way, it doesn't matter.  If I don't like a kit part, I'll replace it with something I think is better.  I model for ME. MFM!

Frankly, put me on ignore.  Because life is so much easier.

Not to come down on either side in this, but I am surprised if the model doesn't end up with the ridged tail-wheel.

As a modeller with average general aircraft knowledge I thought that was a gospel thing about the D.H Mosquito.... the distinctive tail-wheel ?

(and I realise that will probably lead to me being shown that only one version of the Mosquito had that tail-wheel, and all the other's didn't, but I will live and learn and stand corrected!  ;D )
Oh to be whiffing again :-(
