I've found that when you need to fill larger holes, using the correct type of putty is essential. It needs to fill the hole without shrinking, it needs to cure properly (too many putty types can only be applied in thin layers) etc. On my Sentinel project I had a couple of places where I had to keep applying putty again and again, until I used Milliput which ended the cycle.

I've tried Mr. Surfacer; the problem was sanding away the excess around the defect: I found it difficult to confine the sanding to the Mr. Surfacer, so I'd often end up with a flat spot or dip where the Mr. Surfacer had been.

Gondor

I love the way this is coming together. Gives me inspiration for one of my next builds which is an airliner.

I'm sure I could find something to say about having your flap tracks attached & your tail parts defect free but it's too late now....
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Excellent job Duncan! Looking forward to seeing it finished, always wanted a kit of this since I saw an impression in a mag many years ago.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

After breaking twice I bet he goes and paints it black now..........  ;) ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
