Why not go all the way and create a ZELL B-70!!  Six J-93 in full AB plus a big, big, booster.

You'd need a Saturn-V to get the Valk ZELLed . . .

On a smaller scale, 4 yrs ago I built a ZELL equipped F-16:

Idea is the ANG has a few of these placed in revetments strategically around certain cities in the US to provide rapid-response point air defense.

Over the last couple of days I vaguely recall someone posting a ZELL Myasishchev M-50, that would be impressive!

Found it again!  Posted by Taidantomcat in the One Stop Soviet Shop thread.  What particularly impresses me is the mobile launcher, straight out of Thunderbirds!!!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Here is a ZELL-related clip from the Steve Canyon Show, now on DVD.  An excellent show; ran on NBC 50 years ago and is a great look at the USAF then.  Also a clip from the Steve Canyon promo

picking this up from the link in the other thread made me think of another ZELL application,........modern version of a ww2 CAM ship

something 'light' like a F16..........or something really light like a Hawk since its basically a 'point defence' role

That launcher in the post from Philip is the Revell 1/40 Nike Hercules that I am using in my current Mirage III in the France GB.  http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,29642.msg451526.html#msg451526
It is a really great kit for such an old mold, and really perfect for 1/72 scale-o-rama ZELL.  Would probably be OK for 1/48 as well for a smaller fighter like a Hawk, and is a recent re-realse so it is affordable.

Yes it is.  The guy actually used 2 kits so that the other engine pod had a space for it.

If anyone is keen on doing the 1/32 F-100 ZELL, i have a Mk7 shape available to go with it.

Come to think of it, does a carrier catapult  count as Almost ZEro Length Launching?   "AZELL"
