Today, an impulse buy of an Airfix Battle. Now, do I do twin-engine, uprated Merlin, radial, or something else? FAA torpedo bomber instead of the woeful Albacore?

May I suggest these for inspiration:

This arrived today from the aviation megastore, rediculously expensive I know but I have plans of replicating it to an extent.

Thats got my atttention...... :o........replicating.......?? Mmmmm....do tell........ ;D

Get resin kit bits, drop into rubber and cast from resultant moulds?

Something tells me our own "bladerunner" wouldn't be too fond of this, given that he's the man behind Scaleworx.
Cheers,

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Academy 1/48th:

Spitfire XIVc..2, to be a "razor back" XIVE...RN135 of Ginger Lacey, the other to be.....?? but real.

From Ebay (pt 2)

Heller Spitfire F.XVIe (stash restock - my stock of Heller 16s is running very low).
Black box issue, IMO the best one to have as they mucked around with the tool later and added more alignment parts inside the cockpit, one right in the middle of the entry door.  Numpties.  The photo-top Heller/Humbrol boxing is okay though.
They didn't fix the problems with the outline though, namely the canopy is the wrong shape (allegedly as I can't see it myself) and the tail is too tall. The latter isn't such a problem though as it's unnoticeable until you put a Hasegawa rudder on it.

Received this morning in the post from Korea

1 x 1/72 DXM decals J.A.S.D.F. F-2A & F-2B decals....... so all I need now is something to detail the cockpits of an F-2A and an F2-B and I am all set to model both in something much nicer than the boring decals from the Hasegawa box
