Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

I did think about the same scheme on a Piston Provost.  I just need to remember where the box is!  ALthough I have a vague idea.  IIRC, there's two or three part started in it, plus a Proctor.  Which has given me another idea.  Does anyone do 72nd Bren guns?

Airfix do a Bren carrier and 6pdr AT gun in 1:76, which should be pretty close. Don't know how good the Bren would be in that, but it's worth a look. Alternatively maybe one of the ex-Matchbox light vehicles - Humber scout car, Dingo, etc. might well come with a Bren.

The Airfix/JB 1/76th Saracen has a Bren for the rear skate ring, but it's very simplified.

As far as I know, the Bren Carrier in the Airfix 6pdr set doesn't actually have a Bren gun!

Only Brens I can remember have been held by figures. Matchbox 1980's British Paras, Airfix Commandoes etc. This one surprised me on the Airfix site. http://www.airfix.com/airfix-products/new-models-for-2011/dioramas-and-figures/a01763-wwii-british-infantry-northen-europe-172-a01763/ Could be the Esci set?

The Revellobox Monty's Caravan + Dingo set has a pretty crappy Bren in the Daimler, but that's a lot of kit to buy just for the gun. Various little wargames/model companies do white metal ones too, but so far I can only find them in conversion sets with loads of other stuff for a high price. You'd imagine someone would do just guns in packs, the way Aeroclub do for aircraft guns, but no luck so far....

There is a weapons set in the Weefriends range from Friendship Models that includes a pair of brens

Also a single one in the new Airfix Bedford QLT

Looks ideal - there's a pair of Lewis guns too.

Wonder if they're going to 'uddersfield?

 Well, that's just silly!

Today's acquisitions:

Contrail Fairey Spearfish vacform from ebay - one for the '46 GB I think.
Revell Fw200 C-5/C-8 Condor - not sure what I'll do with it, but it was ridiculously cheap in my local TK Maxx. Seven quid! That's an awful lot of aeroplane, plus two glide bombs for not very much money.

Email Ian to make sure he brings them as not sure that he brings all his stock on the show circuit.

That's one of Contrail's better kits.  I did it years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.The white metal prop is very nice, the injected u/c less so.  Open weapon bay?  The resin one for the Gannet may fit.

That's not a bad idea - I shall look into it! The kit does look quite nice apart from the slightly iffy gear legs.

The Mr Hobby Lotus Elan I won on ebay some time ago has finally arrived.  Nice kit, built one years ago.
