Ooooh yes, thanks for that Lee, brings back lots of (noisy...) memories.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

This and my FROG one may eventually donate their engine sections to an upgraded RAF Neptune. The airframes won't go to waste however: lots of big radials around.....

Today's raid on Uncle Frank's emporium released the two Sword Spit Vcs into my custody, plus an Admiral Seafire Ib (which has IDENTICAL sprues to the AZ Ib, IIb, Vb and HFIV plus a nice piece of etch for teh arrestor hook).  In addition, a mate was wanting to get rid of a Hasegawa Spitfire HF.VIII so that's now mine too.

Admiral are now part of the AZ brand Lee and I must admit it's confusing the hell out of me  :banghead:

yesterday from Comet Miniatures,

A shop I must visit - never been there and it isn't that far  :banghead: Always a little bit put off by the "barrow boy" appearance of the stand at shows

A rather daunting pile of stuff picked up from the post office today:

Hairyfix Vulcan, from seavixen. To be upgraded to a BR.4, and possibly wear Op. Granby colours. Blue Steel may well find it's way on to my Hawker Vindicator.

From Model Hobbies:
1:35 Zvezda Spetznaz
1:35 Alanger Spetznaz
Still waiting on the Revell MAN 7t. 6x6 truck I ordered from them.

From ebay:
1:35 ICM Russian Sappers (Afghan Campaign) - comes with four blokes, a dog and a pack donkey.
1:35 ICM Russian Special Forces (Afghan Campaign) x2 - three figures, plus an NSV heavy machine gun on tripod.

The 1:35 stuff is all going to go towards the post-apocalyptic gang/militia I have planned. The MAN truck will be their "mothership", and there will be a couple of smaller vehicles as well - probably a jeep or Land Rover of some sort, and maybe a motorbike. The fighures will all be modified with duster coats, ponchos, hats etc, and given a motley assortment of weapons and equipment. I want to do a diorama of the whole lot eventually, though I've not decided on the details yet. I wanted to do this in 1:72, but there just isn't the range of figures I wanted in that scale.

It's probably a little too late now, but has anyone attempted to do a running tally of the total cost of the stuff we've bought so far?

I keep all my old bills and one day I decided to go through the Hannants ones I'd collected since I started modelling again. I got a quarter way through the pile and stopped for fear of having a heart attack  :banghead:

Collectively it's a fair old amount but a lot of the money is being recirculated etc via E-Bay so you wouldn't count that as it would double counting - oops just put the old marketing stats hat on again------sorry

I wouldn't dare, to be honest. "Too much" covers it quite adequately. ;D
