My Stash Just Grew Again (2011)

I took a trip into Poole today (I had a rough weekend, so thought some retail therapy was in order), and came away with the following:

From Plastic Pastimes (currently 20% off most things in store!), a Heller Mirage IV, a Dragon 1:700 USS Normandy (Tico-class missile cruiser) and an Airfix Nimrod. The whole lot for under £40.

From Setchfields, a Revell 1:24 Pontiac '78 Firebird, which will get the Mad Max treatment.

From ebay, Matchbox 1/48th NA FJ-4B Fury. To be hacked up into Jet Girl's Jet at some point, which will involve scaleorama'ing it to 1/72nd or smaller....  and giving it two engines. That's Jet Girl as in Tank Girl's mate, and Jet Girl's Jet as in the proper one from the early comics, not the abortion in the film. Typically, the design and scale of the JGJ is a bit variable from one strip to another, but it's definately huge: there's enough room to stow a motorbike and a marquee in it, plus living accomodation that bears an uncanny resemblance to a student bed-sit in Worthing, circa 1987....

1/700 Trumpeter AOE-1 Sacremento - As per above, may well do this one OOB, then again, that hull would make a nice basis for an Arsenal ship type.... 

SCADS?  It's basically a medium freighter similar in size to the Atlantic Conveyer but with a high speed prow.  Move the main superstructure to just in front of the helipad, add the SCADS gubbins & off you go.  Little more work if you want to re-shape the prow, but it's doable.

You gents always make me green with envy, especially those of you that have recently received the world's 4th Largest Airforces & Navies. Mr. GTX, I do believe you now surpass most of Central America in air power.

I recently acquired my "holy grail" kit: the 1/520 AMT U.S.S. Akron/Macon.

Without question, it will be whiffed.

The $64,000 questions are:

Should it be mildly whiffed (built as is but with speculative camo scheme)?

or

Should it be given the Full Treatment?

The Spitfire/Seafire kits come loaded with spares inc. 3 extra fuselages in the 3 kits  

There were only two fuselages in mine - the base kit (Seafire F46 and Spitfire F18 respectively) and a Spitfire F14 high back fuselage (the Seafire F45 being a semi-navalised conversion of the Spitfire F21, itself a Spitfire F14 with the new laminar flow wing).  

And I wouldn't pay the Hannants price for the Seafire F45 either  - not when I can get them from Poland cheaper, even after the postage is factored in.
