Did a run to Macclesfield this morning to check out the commute to the new job,

care to spill the beans?

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Yeah - Google reckons it takes about 20 minutes but I'm going to allow an hour to start with on weekdays until I can safely pare it down. Google doesn't know as much as me about the morning traffic as far as Poynton... :banghead: Macclesfield is a nice little town where they used to make toffee and silk (not together, one hopes) and it has a small but well stocked model shop just across the road from a small motorbike shop, which is a pretty ideal setup as far as I'm concerned.

Will that do?  ;)

Whiff points of note:

Tamiya 1/100th Fiat G.91/R1/R4: Intake and nose cone moulded together and come with two complete units (one pointy, one faceted for cameras). Spare nose+intake could be used for all sorts of things....

Heller 1/72nd Alouette III:

a) Comes with two complete engines (Artouse for SA316, Astazou for SA319)

b) The whole front of the cabin, including the floor, is a separate piece with it's own bulkhead, which could therefore be used to put a "glass nose" onto something else.

having survived the day sitting next to Radish at the newly relaunched Birmingham model show. I can report that absolutely nothing has been added to my stash today.

Survived Radish, indeed!!
I was extremely well-behaved, only receiving two loud, painful thwacks from my wife!!

I bought an Academy (Hobbycraft) 1/48th Bf-109D, which, as it has the parts, will become a Bf-109B-1, in Condor Legion markings for BIGGLES IN SPAIN. I already have a Bf-109B-1 in 1/48th, soon to be completed in captured Republican markings.

Should make a nice pair ;)
