I've just bought on EBay a Dinky die cast 'Essex Police' Ford Capri MKI 3000 GXL 1974, white two doors, boot and bonnet that opens, blue interior. Passenger seat missing, original paintwork, stickers and dayglow stripes still in place. Blue flashing light broken off. Someone has added self taping screws to hold the base plate to the car body. Could be 1/43 scale..
Will replace the dayglow stickers, paint the inside dashboard and general tidy up.

*SIGH* Back on another odd kit buying spree. This week's additions to the stash are Revell's old 1/40-1/35-1/32 scale (depending on which source you believe) oddball M4 Sherman in "less collectible" early '80s re-release form. It weird, clunky, inaccurate and causes full body hemorrhaging among JMNs, so what's not to like?

I also picked up an earlier boxing of Heller's 1/35 scale Somua S-35 medium tank. While the Sherman is a goofy "just for fun" project, the Somua is a possible candidate for "real armor of fictional countries" project I have in mind.

One of the local retailers also has the current releases of both Monogram's old 1/35 scale M48A2 MBT and their 1/32 scale Mack R series semi truck with trailer. Both are so tempting as a possible start to a late '60s- early '70s tank and transporter project.

Pity Vulcans Hammer turned up the same day as you'll be thinking missiles rather than ships now  ;D

Is the duck to replace the one from SMW 2010 ?

Maybe it is the duck from SMW 2010.

A couple of 40% off coupons, a willing participant (Madame Deguerre) to help skirt the "One Coupon Per Customer" rule and I now own two of the Monogram M48A2 tanks I mentioned in my last post. The "Whiffery" comes in to play as these will likely be built as real tanks serving in a fictional army, circa mid- '60s to early- '70s.

Besides, JMNs hate this model as much as they hate the Tamiya "A3", so there's an added bit of enjoyment for me! ;D

I'm sure it's a 1:25 scale model. If it is Essex Police (think they came as Lancashire) then I'd like to see some pics when you're done cleaning her up. Had a lot of toy police cars as a kid including a Corgi blue and white Ford Escort 1.3 GL which I'm sure is better spec then the real thing, certainly hasn't rusted away yet!

Also have a Corgi Rover 3500 with opening doors and boot hatches, you could lift the bonnet to see the detailed engine. Found my Matchbox 1978 Plymouth Trail Duster in Emergency Rescue markings that even has a working winch on the front.
These are just the big toy cars....

Arrived yesterday, a 1:35 ICM kit of the BM-21 Grad truck-mounted multiple rocket launcher. To be a post-apocalyptic gang's ride, the rocket tubes to be used for something else at a later date.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

From ebay, a Cessna 337 Super Skymaster and a Beechcraft V35B Bonanza, both 1/72nd and both Hales Eidai. The 337 is destined for a project, the Bonanza was just gravy.... ;D

1970s price tags on them: 30p and 18p. I just paid £12 for the pair.......
