The Wooksta!

Saturday saw a few extras gained for The Plan, but donated rather than bought:

Aeroclub Spitfire F.14 fuselage
M&E Spitfire TR9
Aeroclub Spitfire F.18 fuselage & E wing.  This was assembled, so got a quick sand and the u/c added.  It's now ready to prime.  Result! I'm thinking that MSG/DG scheme worn by the FR14s in Japan.

Plus a Griffon engine from a Hawk F22. That's just for the bits box.

Finally, a CMR Spitfire Tr.9 (this will be real world for when I do Spitfires proper) and three sets of Type C roundels.

The Wooksta!

A deal with one of the dudes on Britmodeller resulted in me scoring for a CMR Spiteful already assembled. Just needs the tail surfaces and a little sanding.

There was a Matchbox Wellesley with it, but Brother Lazlo cadged that from me as I've no interest in it.

The Wooksta!

Surprise parcel for me today!  This was promised some months back from a colleague I rarely see and I didn'tknow when it was coming or what it would contain.

It was - surprisingly - various Spitfirebits andbobs:

Airfix Spitfire Ia (old tool)
Airfix Spitfire Vb
Heller Spitfire Vb (possibly Smer but it's the Heller tool)
Frogspawn Spitfire VIII/IXc (fuselage salvageable)

plus:
Brigade Spitfire F.XII conversion
Brigade Seafire F.XV conversion
Spitfire Floatplane - Unidentified manufacturer but the same floats are in the Eastern Express boxing plus others, including Star.
Spitfire /F22/F24 wings & tail surfaces.

Result!

I got a 1/500 Leif Ericson Galactic Cruiser. I redid the clear engine parts for the kit when Round 2 couldn't find the molds for the parts. It's a great feeling to see my work in plastic! The kit boxtop is a copy of my original kit as well.

Yesterday saw the arrival at my door of a 1/72 Edgely Optica kit I ordered from Sharkit.

Looking forward to starting it, just have to pull more research stuff together.

CyberHobby 1/700 USS Albany

A WW2 era cruiser rebuilt with a new superstructure to support the new Talos missile armament. Nice kit as the missile sprue use the Long Beach weapons sprues for the pair of Talos launches which results in spare Terrier launchers . I can see the Mack and superstructure parts being used by some to modernise US battleships or Battle cruisers into Missile versions

Decided not to add any more kits to the stash until I have built at least one ... Difficult but so far so good

New hobby compressor - 47 dB , filter and moisture trap
4 x single action external mix airbrushes
portable photo studio
Various tools - odds and ends from the Big Red H (Including 180m of Tamiya masking tape  ;D )

Still to add - paints , pigments (might also buy some cosmetics - for weathering ;D )
Some more tools to order from HLJ this weekend (much cheaper for me to order from HLJ than from Hannants due to forex rates)

Must admit it is more fun adding tools than I thought

I don't think Big H sells them......................yet!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

From ebay, Heller 1/72nd F-84G Thunderjet.

Already got one with about 3 different plans for it, so another cheapy seemed like a good idea.

Is that really a F-84G Weaver ???  The F-94 was a Starfire IIRC
