I haven't got a clue what to do with the last two but I'm sure something will come to mind.

Steve,

I am surprised at your lack of inventiveness. Put your Whiffing hat on and go for it, think fixed wing, go realy out of the box.

I haven't added any kits to the stash since the beginning of the year, and in fact have spent much of the intervening period getting rid of some of them, but I did get a little care package in the meantime.  Chrisonord was kind enough to send me a package of bits about a month ago.  It contained all the parts for a 1/72 scale Hs 293 glide bomb as well as some other odd bits I don't recognize, but have already found a use for.

My one EvilBay purchase for the quarter is one of my near-Grail kits:  1/144 Revell E-4 747.  I've been wanting this thing for the last five years!  Now, I need to give the decals to my graphics artist buddy who can replicate them (he's already replicating the 747 Shuttle carrier's shuttle struts in resin).

From ebay, FOUR Revell 1/72nd Warrior MICVs in Bosnia fit (applique armour etc...) for a very reasonable price.

I was trying to get one of these at a sensible price for ages and couldn't: no wonder they call them "buses".... ;D

One or more of them may form the basis of an alternative WWII British front-engined tank fatured in Tony William's The Foresight War.

Oh, and Chris, if you don't already know about it, ask Alders about the Hornby Loyalty Card, when I purchased the Interceptor today, the young lad on the till said "I've been waiting for you to come in, I think you'll be interested in this...as you do seem to buy a lot of Airfix kits...". 10% off all Hornby products, of course this does not apply to items that are already discounted instore (as they often are), but is handy when they are not having a "Sales Event". As Beales and Alders are all part of the same group, I would expect the same should apply at Alders.

Wasn't too impressed to find that despite the new box, it was the old Airfix 1/72 Hawk inside. At least they have the weapons pylons though.

You have to be really carefull with the gift sets Chris, there are some others where they are the old tools whilst at the same time the new tool is on the same shelf  :banghead: The "Zero" for example, although the P-40/Zero Dogfight Double is the new tools - so my local Alders currently has 3 Zero's on the shelves ! Old tool in new gift box, new tool and new tool double, talk about confusing for those not in the know or simply just not aware.

The older Zero only has 35 parts and the newer (A01005) has 47, if thats any use.  ;D

Especially when the Gift set and Dogfight set both use the 1941 colour scheme, at least the individual kit is in a late war scheme.

Its a mainly a ploy to clear out the old stock and cover any late deliveries of the new kits, but i doo wish they would state on the text if this is an old tooling or the new tooling as whilst they do advertise it as such they do not generally say so on the box. Revell do exactly same and its rather annoying.
