More painting done on my 1/72 scale Arado Ar234P-1, as you can see the scribble pattern was sprayed on, this was done all in one 45 minute session.
Painting the fuselage near the inside of the engine nacelles and the inner engine nacelles about drove me crazy! :banghead:  There is hardly any room to work with and I wanted badly to keep the scribble size to scale.
Extreme concentration was needed here. :o

Thanks eathis,
There are a couple goofs I have to correct before I can finish up painting the rest of the camo pattern...after painting this scribble pattern I won't be painting anything else today. Too tired!

This is starting to remind me of the IL40 "Brawny". Looking forward to more of this.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

More painting done on the He 162, the distinctive curved color demarcation line on the fuselage is on there because I am building this model as a He 162 that was built by Junkers at Bernburg. No worries though, this WILL be a what-if when its done. ;)

Thanks Captain Canada,
The engine nacelle was painted earlier today as well as one of the colors for the upper surfaces on the B & V P.194.

Did the colour schemes vary depending on where the airframes were built then? That sounds very un-WWII era German!  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

The Wooksta!

Towards the end, yes.  The various sub assemblies were painted in their camo and brought to a central location for assembly.  It's quite evident with some late Bf 109Ks and He 162s.

Kit,
Producers of late war aircraft (mostly fighters) relied on subcontractors to try and keep up aircraft production numbers since many of the larger factories were bombed out parts were sometimes painted in non-standard colors or distinctive camouflage patterns.

For example, the Fw 190D-9 was produced by several different companies and each had their own version of the standard camouflage pattern they painted on the fuselages making it possible to later identify where the aircraft was built even if the W.Nr. is not visible in photographs.
Also since the wings were built by a separate subcontractor they could have totally different colors than the fuselage, the Doras built by Mimetall often had late war green colors on the fuselage but the wings were painted in the mid war gray 74/75 colors.

The He 162 also had distinctive fuselage color demarcation lines that differed from company to company. What I find interesting is that not a single He 162 was painted in the prescribed official camouflage pattern, most wore a single upper surface color of green over pale RLM 76. Engine nacelles could be either one of the late war greens or RLM 81.
