 :blink:long way to fly from japan to Swiss ;)

Not necessarily, Japan could have given/sold/exchanged Germany a few aircraft, delivered by submarine or something, that as Old Wombat said escaped to Switzerland, and then put into Swiss service.

Plus the paint scheme looks German (& didn't you use a German pilot figure? ).

that was an exchange student ;)

ready for final assembly, I chose for Oman, because i had the roundel in 2 colors and that fitted quiet well with the inverted paint scheme

Does anybody know if jato rocket leave traces on a fuselage? If they do, what do they look like?

thx all!!

That's pretty cool ! I was hoping to see red and white, as it does look great on that scheme, but now we get the added bonus of seeing two schemes for the price of one !

I can only recall seeing two types use JATO for take-off, the B-47 way back in the 50s and more recently the Mirage IV on the Friday at a recent RIAT show. In both cases the JATO blast was angled well clear of the fuselage and so there were no smoke marks afterward.

Of course in other cases the blast may well be much closer in and would be more likely to leave marks but I don't how bad that would look.

I forgot to say that in both cases they were SERIOUSLY impressive, from the performance, visual and audible points of view.   ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

That's quite the spectrum of aeroplane types right there !

We used to see the old Hercs do it at camp Borden as kids. Definitely something to remember !

That would have been my interpretation as well, but when looking at pictures of F-84 (which had jato parallel to the fuselage) I cannot spot any marks. But I agree is would logical leave a mark... Damn you logic!!

Anyhow, in the absence of visual proof, I finished the birds without, I can always add them later if photographical evidence turns up.

I really had a lot of fun with this build, got me back in the saddle after the move and renovation. Stay tuned for more, some kits made the move to my temp workbench

Later all!!

This was a Top Notch Build       Hope to See More Masterpieces from You! Hope You get a Whiffie Nomination for This One            Dan

zenrat

Those are great.  Well done.

Dan - there is nothing stopping you nominating them for a Whiffie if you feel they warrant it.

If you don't then I will.
Fred

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

We have fun also looking at this great result, thanks!
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Captain Canada

That sure is a top notch build. So well done and clean that they look like miniature versions of the 'real' thing ! Great stuff, and I like the mix of markings !

Man, am I slow...  :banghead: :banghead:

Hi all,

this is my usual spring come back special. I know, I know every time I say I'm back for good, I keep up the rhythm for a few weeks and poof, like the great Houdini I vanish... But trust me, this time it will be different ;)

Apartment advanced a little, career did as well, private life... uh let's forget about the later, and models, well... a lot of the started stuff is still started, and some new models came along    so I guess I'll keep you posted about those because they are the hot ones on the bench right now.

First, De Havilland Hornet, from Trumpetter (how come I feel the need to write the name in full instead of the first five letters... Can it be I heard those letters somewhere else ;) ). Kit is fun to build, and their stops it qualities. Canopy is odd shaped, seat is actually a couch, and the wheels has as much in common with the real thing as do I with ET. Anyway, fun build I said, just added some Baracuda goodies for a spitfire in the cockpit. Panel is from the kit, with decal punched and died (fun because is comes with a little hammer)

Nationality options: USA, Taiwan, Uganda, Algeria, Uruguay

Second new project, nearing completion, an Egg plane  :drink: P-38 with RetroKit resin cockpit. Fits easily, decal from kit can be used for the dials. Wings have been described. This will be a tribute to the NFL, more on that later

Third one, is one for my office. Sales are really pushing for 10% growth, luckily we operate the stretchy version of the 747

Next one, a new holland gnat, in flight. Airfix kit, PJ production pilots (I support local business), represented in flight, Spanish air force. I present to you, José and Andres.

And finaly, an Airfix Vampire T11, Pavla cockpit set, will be Polish. Same stage as the Gnat, in need of post sanding rescribing.

That's it for now

Later all
