All of those are 'whifs out of the box'! The sort of things you don't feel guilty about doing the most unspeakable JMN-torturing things to. Love 'em!

(at that range, the Mirage pilot could just walk across to the MiG and thump the pilot...)
I love this kind of art - the desert (a real sea of sand!), the palm trees, the dynamic sky, the burning enemy...
Just wonder what will hit the MiG first: the missile or the Mirage?

French kids are obviously early developers . The Zero has a label on it in French that says it's suitable for children of more than 36 months.

Thanks to Major for finding the glorious Malka Bros Phantom below: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,38390.msg628046.html#new

That motivated me to go have a look at the vendor's webshop, which is full of interesting collectables: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Sea-Sun

It's also a gold mine of bad box art:

Love the background of the Dome of the Rock.

An incredibly powerful propaganda for the younger ones who will soon grow up to be drafted to fight hordes of Arabs. With proof that America with its Atomic carriers and powerful Phantoms is at the service of Israel. Could have been real, too... With Americans almost about to bomb Arabian airfields to justify Nasser when USS Liberty started transmitting again. Conspiracy? Heh, Israelis were so agitated with news that they had actually struck a French ship...

I was going to say something similar. A political comment realised in plastic on the US material supplied to Israel during the Yom Kippur War. (A bit like the 'still got snow on their boots' rumour of Russian troops in the UK) The US fly it straight of the aircraft carriers after over-painting the US star and putting 'Israel' titles on the side ....it could almost be true! :o
Oh to be whiffing again :-(

As for this one...where is the smoke/flame coming from in the upper half of the picture? I presume from the direction of 'billow'  the MiG has stalled and is falling out of the sky??? :o

The ultimate in that must be an USN Carrier ordered to turn over its A-4s. So far so good. Then its F-8s too... Do Israelis fly the Crusader? No. Are they good enough to master the MiG-Master in two hours or three? Well... But Washington did really order that. Then the F-14 "Squadron" in action in 1973.

Many of the rumours of deliveries straight-off-the-carrier at the time were because USS Roosevelt acted as a last-hop for F-4s and A-4s being delivered as part of Nickel Grass.  So, technically it was true.

Rear half of the fuselage appears a bit, shall we say, truncated? And those horizontal stabilisers on the Spitfire just look like slabs.

Also the US delivered M60 tanks by C-5 straight into Israel during Yom Kippur IIRC.
