Nothing wrong with the art, but the description is great!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thread revival! Well, it might be artwork for an animated series, but the Kfir does IMHO not deserve this goofy representation:

VERY limited edition, it seems?

I dare you to build a Kfir like this!
Size-wise (the cockpit glazing looks tiny) a single-engined Mirage 4000 (huge intakes), shrapely raked-back tall fin, canards, almost-Eagle-like nose....
You know you want to!
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

I still say there could be a career out there for someone to edit instructions and packaging for products of all kinds where different languages are translated to english. This one, however, is the strangest I can ever recall.

I remember an Eastern European An-72 ( or -74 ) kit in my LMS about 20 years ago which described it as a "transport for military stuff and things".

Stuff and Things was such a great phrase that we started using it in work abbreviated to S&T as a catch-all.

In the late 60s and early 70s I used to do just that for Tamiya kits and other Japanese stuff that Riko imported back then.

While helping out in my mate Derek's model shop in Oxford we always complained to the Riko rep, the late and very great Glyn Pearson, that Tamiya's 'Japlish' instructions were rubbish, and so he suggested that we re-did a few of them in correct English, so I did. The next thing I knew was I had the job, and did them for some years. The only problem was doing them from scratch, with just the Japanese 'words' to work with, but the diagrams were always perfect of course. The less said about the Bandai ones, the better........ :(

When their 1/21 scale Tiger I tank came out, the one with the full interior, it took AGES to build, especially as I know naff all about tanks, and the first batch of 100 left Roko's  warehouse with the instructions printed out on the Gestetner machine in the back of Derek's shop!  :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I laughed when I read that.

Gave me a chuckle as well  ;D Mind you, it is fairly descriptive  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

To stray slightly from the topic, a former  colleague who had travelled widely showed me a tourist map of Beijing with one building labelled "The Ministry of Certain Things".  Not a clue what it really was........any ideas?
"If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you....."
It  means that you read  the instruction sheet

The Kfir drawing is intentionally exaggeratedly foreshortened and looks like it could possibly be straight out of the manga.
They're not intended as completely accurate renderings of the subject matter.

Nah, they've only got a wide angle lens for the original pics............  ;D

If I did then I would have to "send the boys round"  ;)

You've now got me planing on finding my old tourist guide to Beijing to see if it's on there ;D I spent 4 weeks in China and it was fascinating, thoroughly recommended, but one or two of the translations were interesting to say the least, especially away from the big cities  ;D

The Y-5 might be a Chinese An-2 copy, but that it is THAT bad...?

In some respects it looks a little like an early Valom kit box illustration.
