Are those underwing gun pods on the Lightning?
If so, let's hope they're outside of the propeller arcs...  :banghead:

Mounting a hook would be interesting, though!  ;)

What happens when only one of the hooks catches a wire?

the question is: where are the intercoolers?

Perhaps it doesn't have any?  Performance would suffer but they are not compulsory.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Except for the Nazi markings, that has a very Gerry Anderson look to it, especially around the engines.

The two the RAF had did without them, but were deemed 'unsuitable' as I recall.

But maybe they were the entire turbos that were missing, I'm not 100% sure?

Well, there was a proposal for a navalized XP-54 (the Vultee "Swoose Goose") - tricycle landing gear, twin booms, pusher prop. And to accomodate a (single) hook the "designers" proposed a central fairing/structure that put the hook under the prop, with extensions backwards. Hard to describe - weird and ugly, though. Check THIS...

Sea Vampires, Venoms and Vixens had hooks and they were all twin boomers too.

In the former two cases they were V shaped and hinged under the jet pipes, in the latter's case it was a single hook that dropped down from the 'dent' between the pipes.

A hook hinged  from the trailing edge of the P-38's  cockpit pod wouldn't be impossible.

Agree, but I thinkm due to the P-38's stalky landing gear, it would require a position pretty far back? Would certainly look interesting.  ;D

The three ex-Armée de l'Air P-38 lightnings received by the RAF were normally aspirated Allison C-series V-1710-33 engines (without turbochargers), and right-hand propeller rotation (not counter).

Besides, the British had the Mosquito which was more than adequate for what they needed.
