IAF around about 1948.....ish

Dear all.....I have been trying to do some research for some propeller driven a/c in Israeli use 1948-1950. I have settled on a colour scheme or two....however,I would like to know if the red/white stripes on the Spits n Avia's where just confined to fighters......I also discovered that the stripes around the fuselage are only more than likely to be white/blue.....although I couldn't find any pics other than white/blue.....basically.....will the rudder/fuselage stripes look outta place on any frontline combat a/c be it fighter/fighterbomber/ground attack/close air support......? many thanks in advance for any help.....H

The SAM Aircraft in Detail article on the IDFAF 1947-61 has drawings of non combat types with the fuselage bands (Piper Cub, Nord Norecrin, & Republic Seebee) and states that the stripes are white/red/white.

many thanks....the pics I have found of the Avia S-199 101 sqn shown the band to be white/blue/white....this relates to pics of models,artwork on book covers and sqn artwork profiles......that is why I am confused.....I really like the red spinner with red/white stripped rudder and the white/blue/white fuselage band.....

Pretty sure the red and white rudders are specific to the 101st squadron so only fighters.

Oh dear.....liking them a lot.......found a referrence to a spit that was cobbled together from others....D-130 that has the W/B/W band............I may invoke the 'whiff world' rule and say that they are some form of general recognition marking......coz they look nice....!!!
