72nd Jeep

Just did the Academy Jeep for a blitzbau over on UAMF. Got it done in 21 hrs of which I only worked on it for about 3 hrs. Can't find the decals for it so borrowed a star from the Hasagawa Long Tom kit just to have something there. Think it fits the What If build as it doesn't overly resemble a real Jeep. Got to get one of the Airfix kits and try it.

Looks pretty good! Matchbox also did a 1:76 jeep, as part of an SAS set with a Chevrolet truck. Revell have reboxed it.

Welcome to the Mad House.

I post photos by doing this:

1/ I reduce the size of the images in Photoshop to 800 pixels on the longest side.

2/ Upload them to my Photobucket account.

3/ Left click (I use a PC not a Mac, for my sins) and select the lower option which is an IMG code.

4/ Copy and paste that into my post.

Thats it!

I built the Hasagawa version probably 35 years ago when I was last on a 72nd scale armor phase. That kit actually looks much closer to a real WWII Jeep than the Academy version.

If you have your pics online (Photobucket, Picaso, etc) all you need to do is right click to get the file name and then insert between image tags. The second button on the second row when you post a reply is the "insert image" button. It will put the tags down and you just add your image address between them.

They also did rather a nice one as part of the 17Pdr & Morris gun tractor kit. It was unusual in that it had the canvas tilt erected and IIRC even the side curtains.

Never liked Jeeps very much to ride in (only ever did it a few times). Always found them rather uncomfortable to get in and out of from the front seat. The body sills were just a bit high for comfort. Kept catching the back of my thighs when I slid in or out.
