An AMTech/Tamiya Ta183

or

A Hasegawa J7W Shinden

or

A Tamiya Fw190D

or

A P-47N, either Academy or Revell, I have both kits in the stash

or

An Airfix Spitfire 22/24

or finally

An AMT/Ertl Tigercat

But given the comitments I've made to other GB's on other sites... AND I still don't have a hobby-room as this is written, it will definitely be only one of these... but as ever, no promises

One of the Axis ones would look best in captured markings.  You could go to town with the Shinden given the sate some Japanese aircraft were in at the end of the war.

I know how this goes I made a list yesterday with a dozen ideas and little pros and cons for each  :banghead: :banghead:

Actually was thinking about a Japanese Ta183 (Richrd 'Gekko1' Chafer did a decal sheet away back in 2003 with a pair of Japanese Ta183's on), no back story, just like the idea. For the Shinden, how 'bout The Spanish Volunteer Cadre in North Africa - Part of the Axis second Desert Expeditionary Force - a bid to grab the Suez Canal (and thus try to dictate their own ceasefire terms).

I vote Nationalist.  Could have the US capture some after the war and have them shipped to Taiwan to shore up its defenses.  There's potential for a very intricate backstory there  ;D

Nationalist!
Depends on the condition in which you wish to build it.

Nationalists had more & better technicians, the Communists tended to use their trained tech's as cannon fodder on ideological grounds.

Therefore Nationalist aircraft (& vehicles) tended to be well maintained; whilst Communist aircraft (& vehicles) tended to be held together with duct tape, baling twine, bamboo, fencing wire & spit.
Has a life outside of What-If & wishes it would stop interfering!
