Who are these four fellows?

I believe there was a special boxing of Zoukei-Mura's J7W1 Shinden that included these four chaps. Some pre-order, first release special edition or something. Maybe these are now available separately?

<...> there also seem to be bands wrapping around the center section of the bomb proper which don't have any relevance to my mind. <...>

Maybe they're the bands fixing the cable duct on an Enhanced Paveway II? Not visible in the Airfix pic as cable duct runs on the other side of the warhead.

Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Could be Moritz, I guess we'll have to wait until more pics surface of different angles.  Although given the overall 'grey' of the test shot and the angle involved, we might be waiting.

I am suprised Revell of Germany are doing a 72 scale A-400M before it enters service, as I expect it will acquire lumps, bumps and aerials that the prototype does not have.

Now I would have thought that a C-17 would have been a better world wide seller in 72 scale - but of course the Luftwaffe are not scheduled to get any, apart from use of the NATO ones.
Life's too short to apply all the stencils

Revell Gmbh have done that before though. They did the A320 in 1/144 very early in the real aircraft's production life, and in Lufthansa markings of course. After a while they re-did it, and much nicer too, and did a number of different airlines, as well as expanding into the A321 and A319 as well.

I suspect thay have a good cross-marketing deal going with both Airbus and Lufthansa.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
