Hawker Typhoon mk. IIB

Here is my 1/48 Hawker Typhoon. It was build from the old Monogram kit with a detailset from KMC.
The radiators and nose section was compleatly rebuild.
The story behind is: what if the wing of the tempest didn't work and as a stop gap they modified the Typhoon.
This is a configuration that was tested on the Tempest, so why not on a typhoon.

Lovely! The assymetric radiator setup is a bit weird, but it's a gorgeous build.

That's really subtle. I guess most people wouldn't even recognize they're looking at a whif. Gorgeous work on the paint job and weathering,tool!

Before reading your words, I was myself thinking that "not a what-if" (shame on me... ). While it is so wonderful and subtle...

This is a configuration that was tested on the Tempest, so why not on a typhoon.

Was there such very-asymmetric radiators on a Tempest? Do you have a link/source?

apophenia: Alternatively, the Tempest (and Sea Fury etc) was armed with the Hispano Mk V cannon, which was a short-barrelled version that didn't protrude out in front of the wing. Perhaps this example was a trial installation of this weapon?

I have looked in my books but I think That I have made this one up. I have seen some pictures with a small intake on the left wing, but not for a oilcooler. I think that I assumed this. So sorry for this.

No they are not machineguns, but they are the later cannons also used on the tempest. they were the Hispano mk V guns. These are almost
40 cm shorter than the Mk I used in the Typhoon. In the original Typhoon you have a left side feeded gun and a rightside feeded gun in one wing. I have placed mine closer together and Had them in the left wing left hand sided fed and on the right, right hand sided fed. So, you would also have more space for ammunition.
