The engine could be mounted lower, with an S-shaped exhaust? Or a flattened exhaust to fit over the spar or something.

Looks like that has been done to me

I'd not thought of it that way -----  :banghead:

That's the great thing about using a forum or being part of a Model Club. Having other people to give their views and ideas that may not be what you have thought of yourself. That is one reason I am usualy fairly descriptive when writing about my builds, so that others can get ideas from the work I have done or from the techniques I have used.

Just to prove I am still working on this.. long time between drinks though.. busy time

Still sourcing some extra Mossie Paddle props for the contra rotaters.. but all in hand.
Just about ready for paint.

At this stage I plan to go for overall silver

Well for the purpose of this group build.
I am calling this done.

Aussie late war Mossies were painted a silver colour, over the timber, so it was not natural metal, just a dullish silver colour.
I tried (and I think failed) to give some variation to a perhaps otherwise dull scheme by picking out the control surfaces in different shades. Contra props came out ok and it certainly looks like an early turboprop.

So there you have it.. the '46 TurboProp Mosquito PR XXXIV

Excellent work! Gives a new look to a familiar shape.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Ugly engines, Brian! :o

But many of the early gas turbines were. Great concept build, mate, not as pretty as the original but, possibly, faster!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Wooksta!

The nose section doesn't do it for me and I'd give it a higher mark number - Australian built Mosquitos were in the 40 range, so a PR.44 would be nearer the mark.  And the tips of the tailplanes are in the exhaust stream so I'd dirty them down a bit.
