Yes you are...I'm using the Hornet cockpit as well.

Hmm, not up on your Lord of the Rings or Warhammer huh, Ok, Orks are the bad guys is these types of things (unless your an Ork, than humans, dwarves and elves are the bad guys).

Ok, I never got into gaming with these (D&D and Squad Leader were as far as I went in college) but you see the vehicles show up in our forum from time to time, usually with Space Marines about.

The engine is up on it's wheels, though I'm still trying to figure out the final look of it. The Hornet cockpit didn't work out, so I'm trying some scale'o'rama with a smaller canopy. To me, it gives it a much bigger presence. I'll have to let it sit and see if it grows on me.

Also, I'm working on a whif in the context that it's a different aircraft than used on the real bird. I'm using a F-4F to display the marking of the RAF 25th Anniversary A&AEE Boscombe Down (bottom of the linked page)

Great thread and projects, everyone. The Ork's plane reminds me of some of those 1960's "Big Daddy Ed Roth" kits like Rommels' Rod and Freddie Flameout.

Great build (Ork's) to display for Halloween ....Hmmmmm no contest here for that? Zombie flight crews, Transylvanian AF planes, Harry Potter trying to outrun a Harrier on his broom, Beautiful witch riding a deep purple F-104 ?

Since I'm limited in my variety of store at which to shop, I use what is available and that was Wal-Mart brand Royal Blue.

I think this purely an accident. That was a bag of model parts with the Thunderbolt sitting the bag with the engine broken off. It was coincidence that it ended up in the photo as it did, but I sure like what you've done with it!!!;)
