Two, 2!, blood sacrifices to the modeling gods in under ten minutes! Pierced left my left index finger with a file while thinning an intake lip, then mildly sliced my right thumb while trimming some flash. YEAH BABY!!!

Just in case you're wondering, it's an old Airfix Gnat that will probably be painted as an RAF target drone.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

An excellent use for the old Gnat. Have you seen that Airfix are doing a new mould?

I can totally understand an Airfix Gnat making you want to stab something - try the Gnat next time though....

Yes, seems a particularly evil bit o' work, but she should look good in hi-viz yellow and red. Anyone know exactly which paints I should use?

Xtrakit Sea Vixen instructions call out Red Arrows Red (BS537) and Golden Yellow (BS536) for their paint range. Hope that helps.

Coming along gradually. Hole drilled for the impacting missile, the toothpick will be painted to represent a flame. Cockpit has been blanked off, don't need bang seats in a drone now, do we?

Painting is just about done, bit of 'touch up' here and there, pull the masking off the canopy. Sure is looking shiny!
