Tuck - it looks great to me.

Lets remember its just a hobby which allows artistic expression.  I build Luft 46 - I never let the facts get in the way of a good story/model.

really like the way that looks.

Either would  be great.. but forward swept.. wicked ;)

I like the FSW configuration.
In my opinion, British, Canadian, or USAF markings make things look so much better...

... but what kind of super-tape were the Germans using to hold their aircraft together like that??  ;D
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Whatever.

Thanks for the kinds words, all!  I have been sidetracked by starting several other projects like a Huckebein, and an Arado 234 C with V-1, but I promise I will try to get this one back on track.

Got quite a bit done on this during the weekend.  Cockpit done, landing gear bay done, wings and tail on and puttied.  Now I am pondering the twin engine options.  One of two ways: Either twin engines "blended" into the top wing/fuselage, or twin engines on a pylon in a "pod".  The "pod" method seems to work with the particularly German penchant for field replacement options.  I also thought that the engines mounted a couple of feet up off the fuse/wing on a pylon would help with airflow issues over the inner crucial portion of the forward swept wing.  Thoughts?

All done.

The final variant of the Heinkel 162.  the 162 S-2 was designed as an ultra high altitude enemy escort interceptor.  The lightly armed S-2's would keep the fighters busy while the 262's and Ho229's dealt with the bombers.  The wings and tail were of wooden construction for lightness and ease of assembly with large fuel tanks to assist the thirsty engines. These things were an F-80 C pilots worst nightmare.  Nicknamed the "Scissor Tail" by allied pilots, the S-2 was greatly feared.

Huma 1/72 scale Junkers 287 wings with PM model Ta 152 Tail.  Engines from spares. Base kit: Tamiya.  Scale: 1/48
