I couldnt care less if they'd used the actual paint used during filming its still just a normal model built the normal way... I mean if it had been used IN the series perhaps from a collectors point of view... but...

I find it hilarious when they actually quote a scale for these things.  Most of them are no where near a scale that could possible work to what's supposed to be inside them, if you go by the various film sets for the different rooms etc.

Ok so according to the blurb its a VERY accuate build ... but still...

Very accurate compared to what, the real thing, I think it changed each series.

The thing is, he goes out of his way to say that he painted it "not like you see it on the screen", but how they painted the studio model, as if that makes it somehow "more accurate". But hang on a sec, the one you see on the screen is supposed to be the "real thing" and the studio model is just a tool used to achieve it. This means that if (as is implied) they changed the colour of the thing in post-production between the model being shot and the final version going out, then he's actually made it LESS realistic, by cutting out the studio's post-production "accurising" work......

If the studio model is the ultimate arbiter of accuracy, then presumably all the "accurate" display models of them should have damned great green or blue painted tubes and brackets sticking out of them shouldn't they?  ;)

Browsing eBay at the moment and there is a "Buy it Now" ending in about an hour for a new issue Revellogram A-6E, for a very reasonable $120.  I mean really, why get it for $26 from Sprue Brothers when this guy has one for $120??

Simples!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Hah - I think that one's likely a typo. ;D

I actually laughed out loud when I came across that Vulcan listing the other day. IIRC, someone did a limited run of 1:32 vacform Vulcans recently, and they sold for substantially less than that!
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Damn straight!!  I've got the Millenium Falcon one too - maybe that's worth twice as much!

Hmm, maybe I'd better put him out of his misery...
