Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

defo high price wise for two of em, considering the age of the tooling
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Mine was a later boxing too, but I refuse to believe that the "red stripe" box makes it worth fifteen times what I paid for mine...
One can even buy it for 5.88 (incl. postage):

Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for!!!

I've just sold one of my ancient Airfix 1/32 scale car kits, the Beach Buggy, quite a nice kit but nothing special. I started it at £5 and figured it might make £10 if I was lucky...

It went for £38!!!!!!  :o :o :o

The collector's market is a different world for sure.

Interestingly, the helicopters in the background on the poster and box art were NOT the ones fighting Little Nellie in the movie. The poster ones are Brantly B-2Bs, one of which did feature in the movie, but only as an executive transport, without guns. The machine-gun armed helos that attack Little Nellie are Bell-47s which have been kitted a number of times (there's a 1/72nd Italeri one out at the moment).

The other good scene to model from YOLT would be the one where good-guy Tanaka disposes of the bad guys chasing Bond's car by picking them up with an electromagnet slung under his KV-107 and then dropping them in the sea from several hundred feet.....
