Well I asked the question of the seller - the reply was "Sorry 22.99 $ First model kit was gold"

So a pricing mistake ....but a Golden Model Kit ??

Apparently massive overpricing is a way of selling illicit goods on E-Bay using pay pal.
The seller and the buyer both know it's actually a kilo of drugs in the box and no-one else will pay the stupidly inflated price.

However, go to E-Bay, set it to Models and then sort by Highest Price.  It's a real eye opener.

£260 is a bit excessive for a 1/144 injection moulded kit, considering the Orion shuttle is only £24.99. They can't even say its a full interior as that's extra from a third party and done in resin.

If Roden can get away with charging £120 for a 1/144 Galaxy, the sky is apparently the limit. 

The only losers are we, the modellers, if we chose to pander to such greed of course.

Basic law of supply and demand, if people are prepared to pay the price then it will be sold at that price. If they aren't then the price will drop.

Plus in the UK we have to remember the fall the £ has seen in the last 18 months or so.
