Your modeling is very good, there is hope for my Airfix 1/144 SRN-4 super-stretch hovercraft.

Should have taken up model building in 1/144 scale years ago, think of the space I'm saving.
Great work.

Real World Alert!

this model depics a SABCA/Dassault Mirage M5BA prototype.
the MirSIP (Mirage System Impovent Program) upgrade was intended to modernise Belgiums fleet of Mirage 5BA, 5BD and 5BR fighters.
unfortunatly, the Belgians never used the upgraded mirage as they were retired early following the end of the cold war.
20 MirSIP upgraded aircraft were sold to Chile in the 90's, were they were known as Elkans.

Model: modified Revell/DML Kfir C-2 with dummy AIM-9L's from revell F/A-18C
decals: Custom (scaled down from original DACO 1/72 decals)

im starting preperations now for the danish superbug

In juli 2011, the Force Aerienne Wallonie (FAW) bought 8 AS532 Cougars, previously leased by the Republic of New-Flanders Army Aviation.
the helicopters retained the the standard RMV-LLV Camoflage and had the FAW marking applied on them.
the Cougard of the FAW will be used in troop transport, SAR, CSAR and fire fightig roles.

model: Revell conversion (previously in RNV markings)

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

deu to lack of motivation/inspiration and personal problems, i am going to go on a RW Whif sabatical, i dont know for how long, could be a few days, few weeks,.....just thinking some realworld models might give some whiff feul/inspiration. im still gonna be here every day, just not as an active whif modeller.

but im not going quietly, here's 1 i just finished, a little tribute to those who lost family and loved ones in the Norwegian terrorist attacks this week. armament consiist out of 2 AGM-65, 4 AGM-84, 2 IRIS-T and a Litening LDP.

Model: Dragon/DML
Decals: DIY

Nice Hornet.

Did you airbrush this? I can't help but notice the big difference between the paint finish on this and the Cougar.

no, i havent airbrushed any of my models (dont have a spray cabin made yet) they're all handpainted, had some paint problems with the cougar, first there wasnt enough thinner, then to much.
the Super Hornet acually went quite nice to build and paint

no build update, but a news update

as practicly all of the builds (in all scales) have been put on hold t'ill the finishing of my new 1/144 aircraft carrier, HMS Kestrel, i though i would sched some light on future builds in the 1/144 field.

as part of the HMS Kestrel build, a small number of aircraft will be incorporated in the 1/144 build here, including (all in Fleet Air Arm colors) 1 E-2C Hawkeye AEW.1, 2 Sea Tornado GA.1's, 1 Sea Tornado F.2 and 1 Sea Stalion HC.4.
work on these will start as soon as deck construction and painting is finished.

as for other future projects in 1/144, plans include (some previously mentioned).

-Dassault Rafale-C (Wallonian Air Force, converted Rafale-M)
-F/A-18E Super Hornet (Danish Air Force)
-Alpha Jet-M (French Navy carrier trainer)
-Raptor F.Mk.1 (F-22A in Royal Air Force service)
-Mig-29 Flatpack (Mig-1.44, in Ukraine Air Force markings)
-Mig-21 Fishbed (no idea on markings yet)
-JA-37 Viggen (thinking Swiss Air Force)
-Sepecat Jaguar (Morrocan Air Force)
-F-14A Tocat (thinking an Area88 version)
-Tornado ADV (possible Tornado 2000 in RAF service)
-.....

there are also several Real World 1/144 on the drawing board.

furthermore, inspired by Hobbes idea to build a number of 1/144 scale sucesors to the RNLAF F-16's (see thread here, im pretty fond of the idea and im concidering a similar for Belgium's F-16 replacement.
i got a number of models in the stash already and im gonna add some more soon.
planned aircraft are the F/A-18E, Eurofighter Typhoon, Dassault Rafale, F-22 Raptor (just for fun  ;D), Mig-35 (converted Mig-29 kit with F/A-18D parts), Gripen NG (if i can get hold of a Gripen in 1/144, or could find one in the scrapyard) and the F-35A. the F-16C with CFT's could also be a possible build

Hi Nils you might want to wait for the new Academy Gripen in 1/144th, the earlier ones were a bit "wrong" IIRC.

On the bench.
1/72 Space 1999 Eagle, Comet Miniatures Martian War Machine
1/72nd Quad Tilt Rotor, 1/144th V/STOL E2 Hawkeye (stalled)

Spey_Phantom

no progress on the carrier but i do have an update on (one of) the next aircraft im gonna be building as  a side project.
today, i finally got another 1/144 revell MIG-29A and a F/A-18D, now ad the two together and what do you get?:

awnser: MIG-35  ;D

ive started to  cut away a piece of the spine of the mig and i fitted the rear part for the canopy on it, surprisingly, the the canopy and the cockpit of the F-18 fit the fulcrum almost perfectly with little or no extra work. also, i had to remove the dashboard, as the -35's dash is placed more to the front.

here's a preview pic of what i got after 5 minutes of simple cutting  (inside is dryfit, rear part is glued, needs PSR)
