The Seaview is a privately owned twin-turbine nuclear submarine that appeared in Irwin Allen's 1961 Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea movie, and later the television series of the same name. Along with the shark nose, the Seaview has manta-ray flared-out front stabilizers. In the stern, V-shape long tail stabilizers are incorporated.  The 400 foot sub's depth floor is classified, but the speed is described as being ' 35+ knots '. For it's exploration missions, the sub carries a mini-sub & diving bell. The Seaview is also secretly available for special classified military missions and weapons testing.

This is the 1/350 scale Seaview kit by Moebius Models. All told, I spent over a year working on this. The model represents the 4 window TV series version and features a detailed aftermarket PE control room (available fom ParaGrafix ) with miniature crewmen and a lit Flying Sub bay complete with a quarter-sized Flying Sub purchased from MonkeyWorks. The sub is fully lit with 1.8mm Christmas treel LED's and fiber optics powered by 4 AA batteries.

This was a fun build! I hope everyone enjoys these images.

P.S.: Stay tuned for an undersea diorama where the Seaview squares off with a deadly foe!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Looks good.  The photoshopped picture looks more convincing than the old TV show.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
