_Red Eagles_ book- MiGs in the U.S.

Has anyone read this?  I searched here and didn't come up with anything; sorry if it's a repost.

Tons of info on a fascinating subject.  I had seen hints about us having MiGs, and there are a couple at the Air Force Museum with no background on where they came from (in addition to the -15 via a defector, and a -29 that we apparently bought later on.)  But wow- the detail this guy found, mainly from interviews with the pilots.  We had a full squadron eventually, and regularly flew them against Air Force and Navy crews, so that not only did they get briefed on capabilities, they actually got to fight them.

As for what-ifs, I can easily see us getting more than we did.  What he covers is -17s, -21s, and -23s, mainly from Egypt/China/Indonesia.  What if we got assorted Sukhois, and Il-28s?  Stretching a bit, there could have been Tu-16s, Tu-22s, etc.  And then after the fall of the Soviet Union, we did buy some things on the open market.  What if we bought Tu-26s, Tu-95s, a Tu-160...

I highly recommend it as well. I got my copy at a "remainders" book store..I guess it's not that sexy of a cover to move a lot of them. Full of great info, intriguing ideas, and some very very weird and erratic people too.
