As requested here are the approved rules for the Ship GB:-

1. It must be a ship or boat, i.e. a vehicle designed to operate on water the majority of the time. Seaplanes not allowed. Hovercraft as long as they are designed for use on the sea are allowed, Submarines are allowed as are Amphibious vehicles designed for operating at sea, but river wading vehicles are not.

2. It must be a whiff either of your own invention or a real project that failed to get built or enter service.

3.   Group build to start Tuesday 3rd May 2011  and terminate Saturday 3rd September 2011. There is a certain flexability due to the timezones we encompass, so expect a bit of honesty regarding the build

4.   The group build moderator shall be myself "Thorvic", and all queries, rule checks, and requests for time extensions should be directed to myself via PM only in the first instance.

5.   Time extensions will be considered, however they will only be granted after consultation with site admin, and for an additional 7 days with the possibility if justified to go to the maximum of 14 days.

6.   Profiles and back stories are allowed only if accompanying a completed model, stand alone profile or back story/alternate history threads are not eligible for entry to this group build.

7.   Participants may enter as many builds as they wish, although given the length of this proposal has been around, i will consider already started projects too as long as they have been first agreed with the moderator.

8.   Entrants are encouraged to start their own build threads in the relevant group build sub forum.

9.   Finished builds are to be posted up in the relevant sub forum finished builds thread, with a maximum of two good pictures per finished build in the thread. Pictures are to be uploaded to an image hosting site.

10.   Upon the termination of the group build, a group build winners poll shall be posted by the group build moderator within no more than 48 hours of the closing date, and to run for no more than 7 days from then.

11.   The Winners poll shall be a secret vote, where members shall vote for only one entrant, and there will be no ability to change ones vote once it has been cast, so think carefully before casting your vote.

12.   Any posts promoting the group build outside of the group build sub forum are expressly forbidden, and I have been advised by site admin that any such posts shall be deemed to be trolling.

13. The GB winner shall receive a prize from myself, the nature of which is still to be determined

14. Have fun, and lets build some models people!

Please note this is intended for sea going vessels, it was decided that Land, Air or Space based Warships are deemed Sci-Fi and would be more suitable in a dedicated Sci-fi GB due to follow.

Hi Nils

Yeap OOB is fine as long as they are still Whiffed, be it another user, a fictional or propossed class member that wasn't built.

With it being ships i know many wont have dabbled in ship modelling so would not have the background or the spare parts to be too creative, plus the idea was to encourage the membership to have a dabble with ship modelling if they hadn't tried it before.

Cheers
