Greetings all. Nils was kind enough to answer some of my questions so I'm throwing my vintage 1946 fedora in the ring.

Do you have any idea what happens when an Me 210 meets a DH Herron?

Watch this space to find out!

P.S. I just found the Me-210 fuse. I wonder how it'll look with those Herron wings and a bit o' scale-o-rama? Might be a two-fer...

You mean a "1/144" four-engined bomber using the 1/72 diminutive Herron engines? Or a 1/72 four-engined "fighter" using the Me-210 as a base? Either way, I'm interested!

I had, long ago, thought of a DH Comet with the Herron's four-engined wings, but never did it.

The funny thing is I just completed a jet-powered Pan Am airship in something like 1/800 scale which might've made a decent entry. This will teach me to build anything without checking in here first. I need to get some pics and a Photobucket account, which I hope to have together when the forum comes back from maintenance.

The Me-210 fuse/DH Herron wings idea would be scale-o-rama to 1/144.

Oops and these two I'm planning will be spat-less.

P.S. See you all on the "other side" on Monday. I may actually have something to show you then.

Hmm. Sounds like it would make a good high-altitude bird. ( Don't be too ashamed-I had to look up the Herron, and realized I was
confusing it with the earlier DH 86...which would be pretty darned weird, but pretty darn cool, too. )

Brian da Basher

Well it turns out the DH Heron II wings are way too long for the Me-210 fuse, so scratch one entry.

Hopefully, these shots will make up for it. The props aren't glued on yet as I need to finish the paintwork.

That looks good - nice project.

It looks a bit like one of these: Saunder ST-27/28

Off at a tangent, I didn't realise how much dihedral the Heron's tailplane's have: perfect for staying out of the jetwash of a canberraesque jet conversion......hmmm

Here it is with the paint done. Oops looks like I forgot the anti-glare panel. I'll have to fix that.

Decals are next.

Good work,  if this plane could be waiting for me, in an airport, I bought the plane ticket.
