Wow, that thing is a fecking tower.
Nice work so far

Thanks bubba  The high sillouette is the biggest flaw. I seriously considered eliminating the top turret but this is supposed to be an early tank. Bad armor layout, sponson gun etc. The next one will be considerably more advanced

Yup, that'll have an M48/M60 style MG turret on top of the Grant LEE (this bein' the Republic of Texas an' all) 37mm turret. ;D

Good guess, but no ;). Imagine a Sherman with all the hull angles reversed

What's it they say? "Everything's bigger in Texas"?

With a 37mm in the commander's cupola turret, 75mm in the middle turret, surely the sponson gun should be something even bigger. Right?

That's actually a splendid idea. How to (with hindsight) NOT build something.  Happened so often in real life, why not in whiff modelling?

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Actually  all the weaponry is whiffed out too ;D The sponson gun is a 4 inch howitzer for infantry support, bunker bustin, indirect fire and such. The main turret gun is a 2 1/2 inch, fully automatic, magazine fed, very high velocity anti tank gun. The commanders turret will be armed with twin 1 inch cannon for AAA defence etc.

So, of course, it's a Gen. Houston Tank, right?  ;D I'll bet the crews just call her "Comanchero"...

Actually it will be called the Walker after Sam Walker the Texas Ranger that designed the Walker Colt
Here is the finalized gun layout
4 inch sponson gun

Turbine engined?
Awww heck no. It's way too early '37-'39 era. also turbine engines in tanks suck. This will be powered by a 10 cylinder diesel of 600 to 800 HP depending on model. Early models will have bad slick tracks and a 600 HP engine .Later models are equipped with turbochargers and better ,wider tracks with better traction .

That is just insanely awesome! :o

I've been trying to come up with a tank that uses the M41 turret and lower hull/HVSS suspension from a late Sherman without much success. On the other hand, your design is inspired and I think it's totally amazing.
