Tin Wing Harrier!

No pics yet as I'm still waiting on my bits to show up in the mail. Anyway here's a pic as advertised:

I'll be building an RN version instead based off a picture I saw somewhere (and now can't remember) assuming the AV-8B/GR.5 never came to fruition and the Tin Wing went into production instead, so I'll be basing the fuselage off an FA.2 with a few extra embellishments.

You might want to look up the Harrier GR5K - I'm afraid I beat you to the RAF version last year!
I still have all the pics I used during the project,and I'll email them to you if you like.

I did, and I love it! I'd love any input from you. Watch this space, it'll be up in bits and pieces as I'm working on my chopper.

Nope, they did call it a "tin wing." Definitely not "thin" wing as you can see the cross-section on that is quite thick! Another nickname for it was "Big Wing." I just happen to like "tin wing" better

Tin Wing (built of metal) as opposed to the Composite Wing which eventually ended up on the real GR.5

Yes i believe this is correct. There was a lot of hooplah over the composite wing during testing and stuff and i mentioned this to my friend from a Harrier unit and he laughed and said "the whole aircraft is composites, not just the wing!"

Thats the AV-8B Harrier II, the Tin Wing was to be fitted on exisiting Harrier GR3 and Sea Harrier fuselages which were not composite
