Oh my, there's hardly anything left of the plastic kit.
I was thinking he's getting close to the point where I'd just carve it out of a lump of dried Bondo.
;D
Ron, you never lack for imagination and skill! I have no doubt that once this is done, everyone's going to be asking you where they can pick up such a magnificent tank kit.

Man, this is getting better with each update! The Merkava-ish hull arrangement is very inspired.

The reversed body idea is brilliant! The turret looks great, too - especially the rear. What is that? The front end from another Sherman?

sotoolslinger

Thanks all y'all  Frank that is the trans housing from the front of a donor Sherman. I needed 2 for this project so I grabbed another one at the show last week. Shoppers warning grab all good deals at the beginning of the show. :banghead: I passed up a 10 dollar cast hull Sherman and of course it was gone when I went back to get it  so I got to pay twice as much.

"A little bit more putty," he says.  I think this man could single-handedly keep the putty industry afloat.

It's going to be beautiful when it's done, though.

Just out of curiosity, where does the name come from?

I know it's a little late, but I think I have a Sherman hull somewhere, if you want it.

Too bad this isn't an Italian tank - you could call it "La Putti"

sotoolslinger

Thanks y'all and thanks Frank but I have all the Sherman I need ;D
Jsc, there was actually an arms manufacturer in Texas during the War of Northern Aggression.

I just did some reading about them.  They started the war making mill machinery, yet turned out revolvers patterned after the Colt Dragoon.  They're some of the most sought-after weapons on the collectors' market, too.  It's a proud heritage you've given this beast.  Thank you for the history lesson.

Another nice looking tank, Ron. Have you considered a 4th set of road wheels due to the slightly greater length of this tank?
