...and Australia is almost as big as Texas... ;D

Well you have to remember that maps are not entirely accurate
Anyway here is progress ;D

To amuse myself I actually designed the round that the gun fires. Here is a crewman displaying a 4 inch Hard Core round (20 lbs at 3800 fps)
Standing on the ground is a standard US 106 MM Recoiless rifle round

Here is a sneak preview of the escort/tank destroyer

Population-wise, at any rate, that would be true! Texas is ~25 million while Oz is ~22 million. Sotoolslinger's really not exaggerating to call Texas a republic.
Some clever and amusing quote goes here.

Doc Yo

As an employee of the great State of Texas, I'll just....keep mah mouth shut.

But the tanks are beauties! The big boy reminds me of the 'atomic powered tank' design of the 'fifties, and the escort, well, I
love the Ontos. Beautiful job, amigo.

arkon

just 2 of the recoiless rifles?

I really like the gently sloping sides. Makes it look like it was poured like that from molten steel.

You probably won't keep that Illuminati Black, but I think it works well, Ron!

This baby makes me remember that old saying "Don't mess with Texas!"

I nominate that it gets written on the side as the tank's name!

Nice bit of scratch building there!  Can't wait to see her finished

Thanks all y'all
Remember , never ask a man if he's from Texas. If he is ,he'll tell you. If he isn't there is no reason to embarrass him. ;) ;D

I really like the chains on the back of turret! Nice work!

Ron, the Dancer looks great! The bustle box really adds to the turret, too.

Are the spare tracks on the transmission housing just extra armor? Because the pads don't seem to match the tracks.

Wyrmshadow

The double wide tracks remind me of the T14 Assault tank.

Awesome job Ron - it looks really good now.

Would a follow-on version have a revised engine layout in order to have the bail-out-through-the-back option like the Merk?

This reminds me of Tony Williams' Foresight War story, where a 21-st century history professor wakes up in 1934 and starts advising the UK government. Engine-forwards tanks are one of his recommendations and ever since reading it, I've been toying with ways of doing one.

and we have vast tracts of land where no one in their right mind would live

That must be handy for all the people in Texas who arn't in their right minds then.... ;)
