I have often used the blu-tac masking technique.  Its great if you're a muppet like me who can't airbrush freehand or for spray cans.

You just roll your blu tac into sausages and stick em on - the thinner the sausage the sharper the edge of the spray, obviously.

My Comanche was brush painted Dark Green then masked with blu tac and sprayed with Halfords white primer to give a slight feathered edge



I would post an image of my Hunter that I airbrushed using blu-tac sausages, but you can't upload piccies direct from your hard drive in this forum. But trust me, it looks great!  :D
